Radiator Restoration

Each car restoration is unique and each car radiator restoration we undertake is also unique.  We fabricate from drawings, and blueprints or reverse engineer parts from our customer’s radiators.

Our customers range from restoration shops preparing for the Concours D' Elegance to customers driving in the local parade. Each job is tailored to our customer's budget and their exacting standards.

Radiator restorations generally involve the following steps.

  • An estimate of the restoration time is made and the customer deposit is provided.
  • We inspect and test the radiator to identify for stress cracks in tanks
  • We dimension and dismantle the old radiator
  • We surface clean and inspect all parts for damage.
  • Parts are straightened, dents removed and fabricated as needed.
  • The radiator core is constructed and installed.
  • The radiator is pressure checked to test for leaks.
  • Side mount brackets are checked for proper shell fit.
  • Radiator is painted.
  • We package the radiator in a custom foam filled box suitable for shipment.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of used radiator parts (original top and bottom tanks, inlet and outlet fittings, etc.), we cannot guarantee the long-term structural integrity of old parts.  We will, however, make every effort to not use any old parts that, in our opinion, are too deteriorated.  Our standard two-year warranty against solder joint leakage, as well as our two-year warranty on the materials and workmanship used in the construction of the new core still applies.
  • Total restoration time is caluated and billing is completed based upon time and materials used and the radiator is shipped.
