Ford introduced the 6 cylinder 1-GC-8005 radiator in October of 1940 for full sized cars and light trucks. It is narrower than the V8 radiators of the same period, has unique angles to the tanks, a crank passage and the unique bottom bar shaped for the modified crossmember to accommodate the longer engine. The early version was a non pressure system and by the summer, the filler neck had moved and been converted to pressure.
If you have modified or altered your vehicle in anyway, please order from the bespoke radiator section. If you wish to restore your OE radiator using your OE tanks, brackets and/or castings please visit the restoration section of our website to begin the process.
