If you find you're losing fluid out your overflow tube in a non pressure system it may be due to the absence of a baffle. This is cone that can be added without major radiator surgery. Cut the base to fit withing the neck and open up the tio with a drill or rod to sleeve the cone onto the overflow. The radiator can be filled still and the cone will capture more of the fluid escaping due to higher speeds, excess capacity or thermal expansion othe coolant.
If you're losing water in a non pressure radiator at higher speeds, flow restriction is a useful remedy. Place this cone inside your top hose connection. Mark it the ID and cut the tip and base to achieve the preferred diameter for lower flow rate.
Three cones pictured but you are buying one cone with an OD of 1-9/16" and height of 1-1/2"
